Married - two adult sons - one a CA with one of the big audit firms and one in London with one of the big Investment Banks - writes software which runs the bond pricing. My husband and I ran our own business in Cape Town for many years - retail lighting. Sold the business at the end of 2006 and now retired - sort of - and have the time to spend tracking the markets. Have always had an interest in the stock market and my first job was with a stockbroker in Pietermaritzburg. Come from a family where my Mom always tracked her shares - think it was the only reason she bought the Sunday papers!!

Have a small portion of my portfolio put aside to 'play' with but my main aim is to beat what I can get from the bank and/or various investment houses - after tax of course.
